Hi, I’m Katie
In 2010, I started my first trivia night at hotel bar in downtown Missoula, Montana. My game, Trivium, is played weekly at bars, breweries, cideries, wine bars, and community centers all over the USA.
I absolutely love researching, writing, and creating these games. I pick up on trivia everywhere and have developed a niche knack for turning interesting information into trivia questions that are answerable and that teach people things. I never in a million years could have guessed trivia would be my thing, but I love it!
If I’m not writing trivia, I might be playing golf, working at the pro shop, strengthening at the barre studio, cruising at the beach, feeding my chickens, gardening, or let’s face it—binging my reality shows.
Life is good and trivia makes it better
Trivia night is good for people.
I always say that with trivia, everybody wins. There are no downsides to trivia night!
There’s plenty of research on the health benefits of trivia night. Playing engages the frontal cortex, supports cognitive and brain development, and expands our decision-making capabilities. Correctly answering trivia questions gives our brains hits of dopamine. The good, healthy kind of dopamine! Trivia night reduces stress, brings people together, and hey, makes us smarter.
I’ve experienced it myself and witnessed it for years—trivia night is an amazing place to meet people and to nurture existing bonds. I’ve seen several couples meet at trivia night and end up married, and have even DJ’d a couple of these weddings!
There’s nothing I don’t appreciate about trivia night— it’s not even bad for the environment! It’s truly a win-win for everyone.
